The Pitt Panthers and Penn State have a major rivalry going on – and have for a long time! It’s all in good fun, though, and tailgaters from both teams can be seen hanging out before the Pitt-Penn State game, making predictions about which team will win the game.

They are in the NCAA 1 East division of the American Athletic Conference. The Owls have been playing football since the year 1894.

University of Pennsylvania Football
The Quakers are in the NCAA Football subdivision in the Ivy League Conference and play their home games at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, the oldest football stadium in the nation.
Other interesting facts about Franklin Field: It was the first college stadium in the US with a scoreboard, and the second college stadium with an upper deck of seats.
They have competed in the Ivy League since 1956.
